No review this time :p
I just wanted to let you know that all of this is great ;)

GhostLawyer responds:

Haha thank you sir!

The intro really got me at once. I like the mysteriousness! (The piano sample sounds great :p)
The bass and drums work well, and so do the synths. The atmosphere is great, can't wait for this (take your time though, as you said)!
(you so funny).

LunacyEcho responds:

:D

Too bad you can't wait, because it's probably going to be around 10 months before I can even work on this again. :P

I so funny.

Wow, this is beautiful. Why are all your previous compositions zero-voted? That kinda sucks :(
Time to go favorite dem0lecule...

May I perhaps ask what that good advice was? Because this looks like it's going to be an AWESOME song ;)

Everratic responds:

He taught me how to make my melodies sound more exciting and how to add variety and details to my songs. It's too much to describe lol.

Thankyou.

This is great! I can easily see how it's inpired by Elitistinen! I also realized I had forgot to favorite you earlier, even if I've been listening for a while hahha. Mistake fixed ;)
I didn't expect something like this from you either. You did a wonderful job with this track!
All the different parts blend together perfectly.
(Yay, I didn't realize you use Cubase too :p It's a lonely world if that's your DAW here on Newgrounds :/ )

Liked, faved :'D

Mattashi responds:

Thanks Lucid!
We must grow our army of Cubases on Newgrounds! :P
I used to use Fruity Loops at first but it was a pretty old 32-bit version so I bought and switched to Cubase 7 recently :)

Heyy :p

The chords and melodies are pretty interesting, albeit a bit weird XD
The beat is good throughout the entire song. I would've prefered a bit more of rythmic variation though :)

The firt time the piano enters I feel as if its reverb or EQ doesn't go perfectly along with the rest of the song. But now that I've gotten used to it, it sounds good :P

I like the white noise, but I think I'd have liked if something more was added just after it, apart from a new melody. Maybe some kind of heavy reverbed cymbal smash or something XD

The part between 1:40 and 1:47 is really interesting!

The mood and atmosphere of the song are also pretty unusual, but I like them :D

I like most everything going on with the piano in the later parts of the song too.

Finally, the ending is pretty funny.

I still feel like there's something missing in this :/
I think it's because the quality of all of the instruments isn't great :)

Overall; good song and good job ;)

TaintedLogic responds:

Haha, I agree about the weird chords/melodies. Harmonizing isn't my strong suit, but I love creepy melodies! :D I'll credit DM with the beat, and I agree that it is rather good. I know what you mean about the EQ/reverb on the piano. Maybe it's the instrument that's the problem? I'm glad you like the white noise. I just recently figured out how to do that transition thing, and I think it sounds pretty cool if I say so myself. XD I recall I was trying to find some conclusive way to wrap up the chorus, and then 1:40 happened! ;) I agree, it does have a pretty queer vibe, and, yeah, I sort of adopted Johnfn's troll-style endings, didn't I? :) I'll work on the quality of instruments for next time. I think when you're doing a collab it's tough to find instruments/plug-ins you both have access to. :/ Thanks for the review, LSD! It's always greatly appreciated! :D

So it's finally sound design month ey? :'D
Wouldn't have needed that dead giveaway hint either :)

Well, the melodies are amazing for sure. They seem a bit familiar somehow (at least the chords and rythm; maybe just from some of your earlier work), but I definitely don't think they're stolen. I can easily hear the johnfniness in this piece XD
I don't have much to say :/
All the instruments you used (made) sound good and go well together. I liked the slow beginning, and at least you let the song bleed out preoperly in the end :)
I could've easily listened to a longer version, but I know you probably don't have that much free time XD

Good job!
Liked, faved :'D

johnfn responds:

Haha it's not very much of a hint but I wanted to tell you that i made ALL the sounds! :D Well, almost all.

The interesting thing about the chord rhythm is that the first chord gets 8 beats, then 3, then 5. I don't think I've done something with that rhythm before (though not for lack of trying haha).

Yeah I wanted to make a longer version but no time. Also, I was having some blocks even making the solo as long as it was and I wasn't sure what to do hahaha whoops.

Thanks for the review!

Hey, I already heard this earlier :3
Why did it disappear for a while o.O?

Dedicated to us fans ey? Thanks! XD
This is a good track, much better than anything I could make in this genre. I should practice electronic dance music sometime in the future XD

I like the entire song. The name is cool too. I'm not usually a fan of those little snippets of song that often is used in these kinds of tracks, but I think you did a really good job with it. The "Activate!" is in all the right places, imo.

I'd say you did a splendid job with the piano in this track. I like what it plays, and how it is mixed.
One of my favorite things with this track are all those uplifting sounds though. Especially the one that comes in at examplewise 0:30, and 1:55. I wonder if you used it 1 or 2 times too many though. The effect is a bit better if it's more uncommon, imo at least XD

All the transitions are good, and I like the breakdowns. Without them, the song might get a bit repetitive, but now it's not. The pause at 0:53 is brilliant!

I also like your work with the drums, epsecially between 1:40 and 1:47 :p

All the synth sounds and melodies are great, and I get a happy/dancy feeling while listening to this.
I think it's good that you decided to have such a long ending, mostly fading out, even if there's a clear final note.

Overall, great work! :D

EctiBot responds:

Yo Lucid :D. Really glad you liked it :D. Worked pretty hard on this to make it something you fans would enjoy, and I'm glad that it payed off X3. I'll take into consideration the stuff about the uplifting sounds, might vary them a bit more ;). 1:40-1:47 bugged me a bit, but I'm glad you liked it :D.

Thx for the review and thanks for being my fan :). You guyz inspire me to make my music, especially when you take the time to write such a nice review :D.
Thx for everything ;).

Yay, I finally have time to leave a small reveiw for this! (Sorry, I'm a bit worn out; I finally finished my last school project that was left. I was supposed to write it a month ago, but the deadline was today, and I've procrastinated until now...).

I don't have much to say about this song anyway. It's simply great. I could analyse it part by part, but I'm a bit too tired for that :3
The main thing I have to say is:

HOLY CRAP YOU'RE GOOD AT COMBINING TRACKS! This is not the first time I see you do it (A Catchy Newgrounds Medley), and you did it extremely well :/

Even though you didn't invent most of the melodies, I prefer this song to both johnfn's track and the one by Waterflame.

Also, I'm really impressed by your drum work. It'll take years before I can do something as good :p

"There's your bagpipes, LSD. Hope you're happy."

=> Yesh, me iz happeeh :'D

The trumpet is fine too :)

I love this; instant favorite XD
(I actually heard this a few minutes after you uploaded it, but I didn't leave a review >:D).

Next time, if you want to, try the Didgeridoo, and/or western music. What would the Newgrounds genre for that be? "World"!

Yup; Didgeridoo, and world music. That would be difficult for me, but I'm sure you'll be able to do it (if you want to). I am actually very serious this time :3

Bluarghd :D

LunacyEcho responds:

=> school projects =>

Please don't feel obligated to leave a review as soon as you can! Any and all reviews are appreciated, the point on the axis of time is irrelevant!

=> COMBINING TRACKS =>

Oh hey, I wasn't even thinking of ACNM while writing this song. I just realized that I did that! I might be doing more song covers later in the project, so you'll probably hear more LunacyEcho-fied versions of famous and/or awesome songs in the near future.

=> prefer this song =>

Really? Personally, I feel both are superior, but thanks for the compliment!

=> bagpipes =>

They sound more like synthesizers than bagpipes, but the effect is there nonetheless. :)

=> a few minutes =>

Actually, I figured, since in a fit of stalking, I checked my 'friends' page and saw that you were online. Perhaps I'm the sneaky one after all... LOLNOPE

=> trumpet =>

(whew)

=> didgeridoo/western music/world music =>

Sounds kinda interesting. If you want to hear really awesome world music with didgeridoo, check this out! http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/480190

I highly doubt I'd be able to pull off a good world music song. For one thing, I don't have the best orchestral samples. For another, I don't have a didgeridoo sample (as far as I know)! I could try, but it probably wouldn't sound that good. :P But I could try!

Thanks for the review!

This is pretty good, bu I actually prefer LunacyEcho's cover of this! It's a mix between this song, and Waterflame's "-Carefree-".

Check it out here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/575269
(Can you guess the name?)
I think you might like it :3

Oh yeah, this was a review... Umm, ahh, uhh... I guess I feel like something is a little off with the drums, which is the main reason I lowered the stars (now It'll probably turn out that you love the drums, and you'll hate me forever D:). The melodies are great as usually though! I also like the style XD

Sorry for the poor review...

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
