This is really catchy!
As I mentioned to you, it reminds me of some of your older stuff. I looove that it has that upbeat feel; catchy happy melodies, and a strong rhythmic backing. I especially like 0:44, because it was a bit more unexpected, and quickly brings us back to happytown :D

I think the mix is pretty good in general! The piano has a great sound, but I think it could've done even better with a sustain pedal. But since you didn't play it, it's a bit of a hassle to "program" in (not impossible to do though). It just sounds slightly dry in a way that reverb doesn't tend to fix in quite the same way. But other than that, it's great!

The horns too (sax, or whatever it is), sound neat! At a few points, the notes seem a bit off beat, but in a way, that adds more realism to the feel, I suppose!

Those are only two small nitpicks though, in general I like it all, and it's a pleasure to listen to!

And also, I like those short pauses in the percussion :)
Finally, interesting choice for the ending! I kinda get it though, I think it's growing on me xDD

I agree. It does indeed sound like my music from a couple years ago, but with much better instruments. Another thing I want to note is that having higher quality plugins not only improves production, but it also makes composing easier.

I was aware of this at one point, but I pushed it off for later and forgot :p

Yeah, this was intentional. It seemed like the easiest way to add some realism. After all, I did use the free plugin for the trumpet, so it's not of the highest quality.

Thanks for the nice review! :D

Preeminent Scribe (/busy beaver)? I like the sound of that xDD
I like that you made a little podcast, it's great (and i think you have a good podcast voice too)!

P.S. I think AIMight recognise that song you've got playing in the background!... If they'd bring back the death sentence, I might get it for that pun, haha :3

ChronoNomad responds:

Hey, Lucid! I was hoping you would dig it. Especially since, as such a busy little beaver, you could have chosen to...

...wait for it...

DAM IT! xD

Hey, if you can open the floodgate of puns, I can certainly rise to the challenge.
Wait a sec--are those more puns!? Oh, dear...

Anyway, thanks a bunch for reviewing my silly little podcast. That's my Scribe!

I might actually like a commercial if something this lovely was played in it :3

Bosa responds:

I think I've done my job then lol. Thank you so much

Hahaha that's amazing. I will!

This is super rad!
I happen to love heavy metal of most kinds, and this has some really cool rhythms and melodies! The singing is very atmospheric too :O
I'd say the mix is alright, even though it might be a tad centered at times. But honestly, it sounds really good :)
The progression is really cool, and I love all the instruments with their own little parts in the forefront. The lyrics are interesting too :D

This was a fantastic listen! Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great job ^___^

ADR3-N responds:

Hey, thanks for the review! Yeah, I have had problems with mixing this particular genre in general. Most of my mixes do sound very centered outside of drum panning, but I can't seem to find a balance between good panning/phasing. If you could send me a PM of the worst instances with a time stamp or something, I'd love you so much! Although fixing it will be the hard part since my good headphones finally bit the bullet. Now I'm on a pair of budget earbuds.

This is such a perefct blend of a hiphop style, and orchestra. It's nice that you're once again dedicating the track for a good cause. I love all the melodic work here. The atmosphere is perfect as well :D
Thanks for sharing, and keep up the fantastic work!

The final version of this is fantastic. Even better than what you showed me earlier. You know, I listened to this for 2 hours yesterday, while I was writing my 12 page assignment :D
I managed to finish it, so thanks for the help ;)

zybor responds:

thanks man

No words are needed, other than truly wonderful.

zybor responds:

Thank you very much for your review, Alex. crap I still have to reply to a lot of reviews and I'm kept slacking off.

I like it! I like the slow and anticipating introduction, and all the synth melodies. I especially enjoy the part in the middle of the track, with the panning/fading sounds. That's a wonderful touch!
Really great job with this ^___^

Catchy and relaxing ^___^
I woke up in the middle of the night, and the first thing I'm listening to is this. I most certainly don't regret it :D
