Well, occasionally people DO die in the military. Every few years or so... But luckily, it IS rare. There are always accidents with guns, explosions, and diseases :/
If you give enough stupid people guns, some of them will derp themselves, or someone else to death. (I know a few stories).
The army is not a pleasant place, but about 90% of men pull themselves through it (some take civil service, others are freed entirely due to outer circumstances). I should thus be able to make it too.
