Woah, how did I miss this?! Oh yeah: news posts don't show up in my feed anymore. XD Hope you enjoyed your cruise. Where did you go?

Yeah, I liked it better when the news posts showed up automatically, as I usually forget to chech them manually.
I certainly enjoyed the cruise, we had a great time!!!
It was just a 24 hour cruise to Sweden and back ;)
(Although, we drove down to Åbo, as there's no port in Vasa anymore, and upon arrival back to Finland, we frove back, which together is more than 10+ hours of driving :p)

I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise! About "Abrakazam," btw, I can definitely understand how you based certain sections of the piece off of others. I just think that the casual listener would never pick up on all these things, as I didn't the first time. XD I think repetition can help tie things together for the listener a bit, you know? It can be quite unpleasant to listen to something that's confusing (although your music is still fantastic, Ale!). I'm not sure how familiar you are with William Faulkner...but I think his writing style and your composing style compliment each other well. :)

Thanks! I plan on sharing a few pictures and such from the cruise in due time, probably on my blog (in case anyone is interested...)
Yes, I was certain you'd understand that, I just wanted to point out the specific places :p
I am also well aware that casual listeners won't consciously pick up on those things, which is also part of the point XD I love including thigs that aren't as easy to notice, despite the fact that they add a lot to the piece, and all those things are snapped up subconsciously, to some extent at the very least, which I find intriguing. That said, I often see people noticing things I didn't think they would, especially when the things are very abstract o.O Phonometrologist, for instance, basically read my mind while reviewing "Medley of a Shattered Mind", simply by listening to it, and caught pretty much what I was thinking while composing the different parts! Happenings like that always make me happy, as I feel that people can experience a piece I've made in pretty much the same way as I myself do.
That said, I always love your interpretations, as you paint cool new imagery in my mind, which make sense while listening to the piece. That way, it's almost like listening to a new piece!!

I agree that repetition helps tie things togehter, and as I said, it can be a great tool! I just tend not to use it as often, perhaps because I feel it is overused in many main stream songs :/

Me being familiar with William Faulkner is limited to me knowing of his name, but not much more. Maybe I should read some of his work at some point!

3€ cruise? I hope you don't mind your body being dismantled and sold for spare parts. The black market thanks you.

Seriously, though, I hope you enjoyed it. :D

Hahha, yeah thanks. It was great XD And my kidneys are still intact as well :p

I should really update this post though...
