Phoenix Up Scored an Undertale Animation!

Posted by LucidShadowDreamer - March 1st, 2019

Hey! It's been a while since I've written an update.

I'm still a busy student, but I keep taking on more and more projects on the side. A while ago, Jordi (@etherealwinds) and I started a venture together: Phoenix Up.

We cover music we love, and we compose original works for games and animations.

Just a while ago, we finished scoring an Undertale/Earthbound/Mother 3 animation by @ant0on!

It'll probably pop up on Newgrounds eventually, but you can currently view it on YouTube:

We had a blast working on the project, so check it out and let us know what you think!

I hope you're all well.

Until next time,

Thanks, man! I'm glad you liked it. It was our first time scoring something with such intricate timing :D

A very cool mash-up of EarthBound and Undertale...with a little Shin-chan thrown in at the end for lulz. It's always interesting to watch Frisk go dark in a Genocide run.

The musical accompaniment was, of course, highly appropriate and very well done. Great job, Phoenix Up! ^__^

It was fun composing for the animation, especially since the animation itself is so whimsical and well-made! I haven't actually played EarthBound or Mother 3, so I should definitely do that at some point (maybe together with Jordi :3).
Thanks for the encouragement, as always!

The Mother installments are definitely on the list of games that everyone should play at least once, though I've played EarthBound (Mother 2) the most since it was the most accessible here in the U.S. There's no doubt in my mind that they'd be even more crazy, retro fun when enjoyed with someone else! :D

On an interesting side note, Undertale is the one that I've only played vicariously through others. The game only allows for a single save file, and I'd hate to overwrite someone's precious time and effort. Ah, well...perhaps one day.

Sorry for the late response, somehow this one eluded me! I'm glad I came back and checked on it though; what a lovely surpsise.

Yeah, I've heard lots of great things about the Mother series, so I think you're right in that it's something I should play xD

Aaah yes, I see what you mean. At least you've been able to experience it in one way! I'm sure you'll find the time to play it eventually ^___^
