This is definitely one of my favorites from you. Partly because I am very biased to the theme of the piece, but also because it's wonderfully painted. Not much more to say. It's amazing :)

SkyrisDesign responds:

Thanks alot :D I went in with this pretty much blind. The first hour i was struggling and people wouldnt even bat an eye at me xD

Not only do I like it, but I love it! The scenery is wonderful! It feels very alive. I like the ways you leave small things for scale in most of your landscape images, like the house in this one. It works really well!

SkyrisDesign responds:

Thanks! I wasn't too sure of the composition. I am still not sure about it right now to be honest xD

Beautiful stuff dude. Something feels very natural about this piece. You also captured a very interesting expression. I love the hair color. The background is fairly simple, but it brings out the character, so it works well.
Brilliant work!

SkyrisDesign responds:

Hey thanks alot! I usually dont do characters much so Im not sure what i am doing most of the time. Glad this one turned out okay xD

You're very skilled at drawing by hand!
I definitely appreciate the atomistic approach, as I recognize that to be more difficult than a holistic one (at least for most people), but can give a lot of personality to all the details of the artpiece, which is certainly does in this case.
Love the theme; love everything.

Great work ;)

Marcomatic responds:

Cheers!
Drawing freehand's always offered that freedom of creativity. Being able to evolve parts of the design on the whim without being restrained to a guide. I guess being a left hander as well deterred me from using pencils as a kid because of all the smudging so in a way this allowed me to refine my techniques with ink. Thanks for the review :)

Aww, this is quite touching :3

Little known fact: hugging potential monsters/the "villain" in your nightmares (if there is a manifestation that can be hugged), is a very effective way of getting rid of bad dreams. The difficulty lies in realizing this in the dream and taking control of it :p

IrinaEihwaz responds:

Interesting, I've been doing it in my dreams without knowing the fact. :D
Thank you!

Whoah o.O
That's RAD AS ****!!!

YakovlevArt responds:

lol I'mma guess you're saying, "rad (as shit) f*ck!!!"

Wow! :O
As a pianist, I love this piece. It's very expressive, and I can almost hear the playing. And that angle! At first, the proportions look a bit weird, but then I realized that he's sitting quite far to the left of the piano. Minor detail of course would be that the piano, from the players perspective to the left, starts with the wrong key, even for the unusual 97-key Bösendorfer piano, but one could just say that this piano is custom made ;)

I like that this piece is so tall! It's like the music the pianist is playing is floating upwards in the form of thoughts, almost like he's bringing the world around him to life :D

The fish look like Koi Karps to me (especially the top one), which are a sort of fish that I like to look at. Maybe this had a bit of Asian/Japanese inspiration behind it?

There are a few other things with the perspective I could complain about, but the whole drawing is so dreamlike that it doesn't matter to me at all.

Splendid work with this! You earned a new fan ;)

IrinaEihwaz responds:

What a review!
I started to paint it after I saw "Your lie in april" (which is great, I totally recommend it), after it piano and post- music took me and then... yeeah, something japanese (I think yuumei's art?). So there's a lot of inspiration and feelings hidden.
Yep, it's a mutated (a little bit) koi fish. I love them. ^^
Aaand yep, piano is a little bit... not normal (I'm a pianist too, but if I draw some part of me is going to vacation).
Thank you! You and your music are awesome.

Wow. I love how real and crisp this looks at first, but immediately as you soom in, you can see the rough brush strokes!
Incredible job ;)

Acrylla responds:

Thanks! Getting that crisp look has been a real goal of mine :)

Awesome job!
The motive for this one is great, as are the technical aspects.
Good luck, and Happy Robot Day!

Kamikaye responds:

THank you ! :)

An amazing piece of art as always. How do you keep this up for all the competitions and such?
Such effort should deserve a medal for sure!
Great job :3

deathink responds:

Simple, I am insane!

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
