Hiya, everyone!

I'm on time, this time :O
I tried to be a responsible adult, so I went to sleep early. Well, turns out I woke up after 3 hours and couldn't fall back asleep. I've got a very busy week ahead of me, so I figured if I'm going to be awake anyway, I'd do something useful. And isn't that great! Now we get to share our excitement about the semifinals, and anticipate the GRAND FINALE together!!!

Calling the semifinals exciting might even be an understatement. At one point in time, we didn't know whether all of the tracks would make it in time. One of them didn't, so it was immediately disqualified.
NAAAH, I kid of course! What kind of semifinal would that be? Thankfully, the merciful arrangers of the competition, and just as importantly, the competitior of the latecomer allowed for a delay, because of the circumstances. And what a close round it was!

We see some of the highest scores from the judges in this round. I guess it's only natural, since all four competitors (3 individuals and one team) very much deserve to be where they're at, and have all fought hard for their placements. Hence, they turned out some killer tracks! If you haven't already (and even if you have), go check them all out in this small, yet amazing playlist!

What's this? Not a single average is below 9 this round! That's quite something :O
This time, it's Samulis' turn to be closest to the average, with a difference of 0.01 :)

I can't believe how quickly time progresses. If you're going to complain (I know you're not; don't ruin this) about the fact that I've said it before, the fact that you remember it only proves my point ;p
We've already reached the final stage of the competition. The finalists consist of a team in which one member is a former victor of the NGADM, and the opposition has an insane score average, in every round! Who can tell how it'll turn out? I certainly can't, so I'll leave it up to time to tell :)

I want to thank etherealwinds and steelside for doing their best every round! As Chrono said; with music this good we're all winners. I also want to thank the judges (and organizers) for their hard work. Once again, I want to give massive props, as well as a shout-out to FinnMK. He could've decided to win outright since his opponent was late with his entry, BUT he decided to be an incredible sport and ended up winning the round fair and square.

I know, I know. I'm a bit late with this one.

I've been having some intense University studies, so I have that to blame ^___^

Has time really moved this fast? There's not too much left of this little (not so little) competition! The remaining musicians are fewer, but the stakes are higher!
I'm sure many of you are busy with work or studies, but even so the contest progresses. Make sure you don't miss out on it! That's why I'm writing this post.

Lemme just say it's always a blast to listen to what the musicians of the community can come up with when matched up with one another. That is one of the main beauties of the NGADM.

Whoopety doop! Here I crunched the numbers a bit to find out what the averages are, in case you are interested.

This time, Bosa seemed to be quite close to the average average! That said, two other judges were within 0.10 from it too, which is pretty impressive (or you know, coincidental).

We're reaching the final stages of the competition now, with only a couple rounds more to go! Namely, the ongoing semifinals along with the grand finale. Only three competitors + one team left at this point o.O!

Regardless of how the rest of the contest turns out, I hope everyone is content with their participation! Especially the remaining contestants ;)

Well well, hehhe.

Seems like the results were a bit early this time around, so to balance it out I did you a favor by being a bit late with my post ;) *cough*
 

Hey, this was another supercalifragilisticexpialidocious round! Dare I say with some expected, and some unexpected results? There were no walkovers; hooray for that! Once again though, one of the judges (different one) was unfortunately busy with "real life", so to speak. Hopefully, for the last few rounds they'll all be able to partake in the judging, if for nothing else than the fewer remaining champions. And congratulations to all who made it through!!!
The pressure is certainly intensifying. Thank you for participating, to all who unfortunately have to wait until next year to compete again.

Once again, I tried to conclude some simple averages. Lemme know if my work is messy, since it's past 5am.

This round, the average average seems to agree with ADR3-N! (Unless I've made some calculatory errors).

Fewer and fewer people remain in the competition! We're down from 16 to just 8-bit (battlers in tonality) now. Who will have the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent to make it all the way to the end? Continue to tune in, if you want to find out!

For now, I will instead tune out until my services are needed again (in three weeks, to be more precise). Fare well, until then!

Another round of the Audio Competition just wrapped up. I told myself to finish this post within 24 hours of the results being revealed. Here we are, 23.5 hours later, with another summary. All that's left to do is to acually summarize!

There were some twists and turns this time around. We had a few walkovers, and a judge who unfortunately was preoccupied. Even so, the competition goes on and we all got to listen to 29 tracks of varying styles. I recommend that if you haven't, you listen to them (all linked below), and maybe leave a review or two! In case you are interested, a playlist has also been compiled.

So the round of 64 has passed, and along with it so have half the contestants. Well... At least out of the competition; I sure hope they haven't passed away because of the disappointment :V

Even so they all brought something to the table, and fought bravely. As expected, the competition was intense, and there was even some very minor drama here and there in the forum (dare I say, as expected). There were some delays, and a few people had to drop out. In the end we got 61 tracks out of 64 possible, which isn't bad! Especially not considering the quality of them.

A special shoutout to Phonometrologist for scoring the highest points in the round, with a whopping 9.62 average!

No pressure in the coming round, hehhe ;)

Once again, huge thanks to all the organizers and judges, along with all who are donating to the prize pool! And of course, to all who participate. Keep up the strong game, and we'll enjoy seeing how far you can take your music in this ever more challenging deathmatch.

Well, well, well. If it isn't time for the Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch of 2017!!!

Considering the amount of applying contestants (236, unless I'm mistaken?), I think it's safe to say that a lot of us were happy that the competition wasn't discontinued after all, but only went on a hiatus for a year in order to spare room for what'll possibly become the biggest NGADM in Newgrounds history :O!!!

Let's make it happen!

Now, out of all the applicants, unfortunately only 64 could move on to the actual competition stage. That said, it has been said before, and I'll say it again; not applying is a fairly *cough* certain way not to win ;)

There are a ton of highly skilled musicians in the contest, so the competition will be tough to say the least. This year, the top auditionees were put up against each other, and the bottom auditioners were paired as well. With any luck, this will lead to both a fair game, and motivation to pour real effort into loads of incredible music. Unless I'm mistaken, on some previous years the people at the top have occasionally enjoyed an advantage by being paired with lesser scorers, though perhaps not in the round of 64. There have been years with groupings of 4 as well, but this year we're back to the 1 vs 1 deathmatches (aside from the teams)!

I'm sure there'll be a lot of emotions spreading through the air as the tension increases with every round. Even so, hopefully we'll all be able to remain civil, respect the other contestants, as well as the organizers and judges. Speaking of the judges, they've worked very hard to filter through all of the music so far, in order to give us the 32 segments of the deathmatch; each consisting of all in all 64 artists/teams, which makes for 69 competing musicians altogether.

That said, the main reason I've writing this post, is because I want to promote a collaboration with @Etherealwinds, which we finally managed to get together a video for! Huge props to Jordi for his tireless editing. As you might suspect, in this collaboration of ours, I played the piano (+ threw together some strings), while Jordi sang some lovely words in a beautiful manner!
