I really like the dynamic production in this one! It's repetitive without being repetitive = pretty darn neat :D

larrynachos responds:

I've mastered monotony, bwahahaha.

Thanks for the review!

Ooh, this was a cool track! I like the rhythm and style :D
Keep up the good work :)

NicholasCabraja responds:

Good to hear from you man. Its been awhile. Glad to see you've been consistent on this platform you've grown quite a bit haha. I check up on here once in awhile, thanks for the kind and simple words :)

This is super catchy! Pretty atmospheric too :D
Great track :)

Noisysundae responds:

Ah, I was waiting for you! Thanks, mate.

I've been pretty busy the past few weeks, so I'm afraid I missed to leave a review on this!
Not that I really plan on reviewing it, I'm afraid xD

Just wanted to drop by and let you know the listen was most enjoyable! I like the incorporation of the guitars, so I think u did good.

McGorilla42 responds:

Hey, LSD :) Thanks for coming back and taking the time to reply! Mixing "real" instruments with softsynths is trickier than I anticipated. I'm pretty happy with the result, but I'll definitely come back to this one at some stage to tweak it.

Oh wow, I love it! These melodies are sooooo catchy, and the sounds and chords you picked create such an amazing atmosphere.

As Gori-chan said, the mix sounds fantastic. I'm really glad you made this, since it was something I needed to listen to today (even though I did not know that before hearing it). I think your affection for game OSTs helped you with the melodies here. It's like a perfect blend between 80s movie soundtracks, and 90s game music :D

Brilliant work!!!

ChronoNomad responds:

Woo! Thanks a bunch, Lucid. This track was incredibly fun to work on, and those catchy melodies and rich chords still give me goosebumps when I listen, which usually happens with other people's work...not so much with my own. Definitely a genre I'll have to revisit from time to time.

Gori-chan? I love it! And I love getting more compliments on the mix since that's something I've really been working on a lot over the years. I'm also really happy to hear that you needed to listen to this, even though you didn't realize it. What an incredibly nice thing to say. Yes, I can absolutely confirm that my love of these styles aided the process considerably. I started right off knowing where I wanted to go and how I wanted to get there, at least in part.

Brilliant review! Very much appreciated, and totally made my day. ^__^

I agree with the comment below :D
This is really catchy, and the sound is pleasing. It also manages to energize me a bit, which is great! I woke up after 3h sleep this morning, and was called in as a substitute teacher :'D
I'm tired now, but I've got some stuff I've gotta write. Despite the lyrics, this piece actually sounds hype enough to motivate me xD

larrynachos responds:

yeeee

also disregard the lyrics, I wrote em in like 2014-2015 or something

oooh
OOOOH!

This is really really nice! It's cool that you're trying out something a bit different. You absolutely nailed the seafarer style. Not just the accordion, other instruments and sfx, but the rhythm and melody are right on point for it as well :D
I love the way the ending changes tone.

Beautiful vocals, props to Alwiren :)

P.S. The downwards moving arpeggio in the background at 1:55 reminds me of something else you've done. Not sure if I'm thinking of the intro to The Tomb Shaker or something else, but it fits this piece really well :p
I like all the other little details too ^ ^

Step responds:

Damn it, you're so quick to get a review in haha. Thank you very much!

So glad I managed to hit the pirate-y vibe! I think it's a really likeable/infectious style of music, and I've always wanted to make something in that style. The research and inspiration-mining that Echo and I did before composing this certainly paid off.

1:55 does sound a bit like Tomb Shaker yeah! Although I think this is slower and in strict triplets, unlike Tomb Shaker's descending scales.

Thanks for the review as always!

Awesome! I was wondering how long we'd have to wait to hear something new from you :D
I actually really like the transition where the tempo increases; it's refreshing. Despite the piece being outside of your comfort zone, it's a great listen. A bit simplistic perhaps, but there's something nice about that approach as well :)
It's nice to hear from you ^____^

Step responds:

Man, no matter how long I'm gone for I can always expect an awesome review from you haha. Thanks a lot!

It's definitely simplistic, which is actually a 180 from what I usually do. Most songs of mine have like 20 different things going on at once and over here it's comparatively a lot more stripped down. It was a nice exercise in a "less is more" philosophy that I wish I had the chops to incorporate in my tracks more often without hiding behind layers of complexity haha.

Thanks for the review.

Oh wow, the progression of this piece is great! The melodies and the arrangement are super cool. Fantastic work :D

FateModified responds:

Thank you, sir. I very much appreciate that! :D

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
