This sounds really neat! I think it matches the artwork really well. There are many interesting elements in your track that I like a lot, from sound design to progression. Good luck!

This is a very cute and tasteful song! I can definitely see how this is inspired by the art-pieces you linked along with your description. I love the dynamics :D

Everratic responds:

Thank you for the nice comments!

This is amazing! You've been fantastic at composing the whole time I've known you, but this is definitely something a bit different, and I'm really enjoying it! Keep on improving and doing your best, man :D

This is so lovely ^____^

Seeing as your story has to do with dreams, and given the title, I'm going to pretend to be the namesake of this piece.

Jokes aside, it's fantastic! I listened to it back in April, but I must've forgotten to leave a review! I'm glad I came back to listen to this now, though :3

My favourite part is the change in tone around the 3 minute mark!

Step responds:

Late reply but thanks for reviewing this one too! I LOVE that you pointed out the 3-minute mark change in tone because that is absolutely one of my favourite things about this song too. When I was making that bit it was very much a "I don't know what I was thinking but I just rolled with it" sort of thing, and I'm proud of how it turned out.

Thanks again!!

How nice to start the new year by listening to a few new tracks made by you! I hope you're doing well ^___^

This track along with the others you made for the game are all great, btw. I really like the style of them, and they work really well together. I know nothing about the game, but I feel like I've already been sonically sucked into a rich and intriguing world. Keep up the great work in 2021!!

Step responds:

Thank youuu for the review as always! I'm doing well - hope things are going alright for you too.

Take care man!

A brilliant piece on all accounts :3

This is absolutely wonderful! Such a juicy track.

zybor responds:

LSD, how are you lately? :D So glad to see you. Hope you and Jordi doing well.

Thank you for your review! :) Take care

Well I'm glad I'm not up against this, especially as it's a piano piece :'D

Jokes aside, you're already well aware I love this. I hate to draw the comparison again, but I hope you take it as a compliment. The way this track evolves reminds me a bit of broove. However, I think I prefer this even to his work!
The sound design is just so captivating and real, and the creative use of sounds and instruments is wonderful.

I also like the contrast between the ending, and the rest of the piece (especially the intro). It really tells a story. Powerful ending too with the lifting of the pedal; it's so intimately recorded.

A bit of a technical review this time, but I assure you that my listening-experience focused much more on the feelings and the thoughts evoked by the composition.

Phonometrologist responds:

It’s weird to stack music against other tracks as tastes are so personal. It also feels weird not having you here with me at the finals.
Your comparison makes me wonder what broove is doing. Makes me sad he hasn’t kept up with the writing as he used to. Come to think of it, you slowed down quite a bit lately as well. Tis life.
I appreciate you stopping by and letting me know your thoughts. I’m not the most talented, melodic, or virtuosic, but I do find that connecting to another by telling a story through form to be the most enjoyable approach for me. You know the quote by Debussy, “Music is the space between the notes.” Look at the first page of sheet music from his most famous piano work, Clair De Lune. It starts on a rest. As a performer, you must count the space between the notes and many pianists do so by breath and the raising of the arm. Before the music is even heard, it already exists in the mind of the composer and performer. Moreover, when you keep the rhythmic beats in between the notes, it does not need to be quantized. I try to listen to the reverberation between notes, and the tempi will adjust based on the story that’s being told.
Thank you, my friend.

This is fantastic!
You say I was a type of mentor to you, but I can definitely say that you were as much, if not more of a mentor to me! I was stuck in terms of instruments and production, and through our collaborations, I learned so much more about how to structure music with real AND electronic instruments, how to combine them, and also how to approach the mixing bit. That is true for percussion as well. You inspired me to invest into good hardware and software too, as you made me realise if I want to make something out of my music, I have to sacrifice something. Keep on being great <3

zybor responds:

Thank you for your review, LSD :)

I'm happy that we both learn from each other. It's what really mutual education is about.

I hope you are doing well, how's your path toward becoming a great music elementary teacher like? Also how's Jordi doing? @EverErratic mentioned you two are together now. That's awesome. :)

:( Sorry for not being able to make into NGADM this year, your track is lit tho.

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
