My feedback is that this sounds awesome! The rhythmic quirks are really nice, as is the arrangement and as you mentioned, the buildup/release :D
It'll be interesting to see what the end result turns into!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it :) I'm still really not sure about how it will sound in the end, but future will tell. When my inspiration gets back on the track, I'll try to finish some projects including this one. I feel like I'm making it worst and worst when I work on it while missing inspiration xD I hate when it happens! lol But well, I just create a lot of intros, or short loops, some ideas. I think I have to get a little break, and chrismas vacations are coming!
I'll ask it to Santa claus : Inspiration! :P

Once again, thanks for the review, your words are always appreciated!

This sounds really cool :)
I don't see many people not liking this. It may be experimental, but it's definetily not antithetical to melodic or generally pleasing music. There's a lot here to like, is what I'm saying ^ ^
Nice job! :D

Quarl responds:

Thanks again lsd :D :D

This is quite an epic song!
I'm sure it would've fit the game perfectly :)
I hope it still gets finished at some point!
Either way, nicely done ;)

I've listened to this a few times, and I still think it's really awesome. I went to listen to Ravel's original as well, and I honestly think I hadn't heard it before! Which is a shame, because it's quite wonderful. On the good side, I got to lsiten to it now :)

I love the way you produced the track, with all the reverb, along with the effectful transition from the arpeggiated synth to the piano with some apparent pads in the background (not to speak of the ending).

It's a shame that you'll delete this if you go through with your plan, but at least you were merciful enough to include the download option, meaning I can listen to this whenever I feel like it :)
This was quite a lovely "sketch" :3

Check out these 4 interpretations of Ravel's piece. If you don't want to sit and listen to them all at once, save them for later... bookmark these

I don't think this is worthy enough to keep online. I could have played the piece better, and I spent only a couple hours putting this together. Usually I like to sit with projects for a while so they can age better before I release them. I appreciate your comments about it. It's always fun to read your insights about a particular piece. I'm grateful for that. I just don't think most would enjoy this sort of thing. Was more like a short journal entry and I'm too shy to show this raw/rough side of me to keep it out there for long.

This is a very lovely song, with some very nice chord progressions and melodies :)
Rhythmically (or rather, there are a few extra notes here and there which don't fit into the measure), a few things are off. But that doesn't really matter, as they don't distract from the beauty :D
Nicely done with this one ^ ^

That said, did you record the improv you were speaking of :O?
If so, I'd love to hear it sooner or later!

I love it <3

This is a nice track :)
It's both ambient and melodic, in many ways. The intro is atmospheric and captivating, and feels like it's leading up to something much bigger, because of the tension in the chords. I guess that something comes in at 1:08, with the percussion, even though the synth strings at 0:58 before that are a nice adidtion too. The odd break between them caught me of guard, but upon second thought, since there are more of those in the track, it feels like simple transitions which are inserted with the purpose of replacing current themes with new ones (or going back to old ones).
This track would be pretty perfect bgm for a game, imo. It's keeps the mood fairly constant, and isn't too distracting, while still sounding pretty rad :)

While this is a halloween submission, I find it oddly relaxing, rather than creepy. The sound reminds me of a crystal cavern of some kind. The cold bells add a nice constrast to the warmer synth sounds that are in the background most of the time.
Some of your melodies and progressions here are really cool! I can hear a consistent theme in them too, so the piece is definitely not fully random :D
(Take 1:34-1:55 & 3:18-3:39 for instance).

Really nice job on this one! It's been a while since I heard much new music from you other than this, but I'm still looking forward to more ^ ^

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks so much for the review, LSD! I'm glad you like the melodies and atmosphere. This piece does have a bit of a long, anti-climactic intro, I agree. Ultimately, I was trying to lead up to 1:34, but I use a lot of stop-start transitions throughout. When I create tracks, I just bounce ideas off of myself until I have a ridiculous number of riffs with little tonal relation to each other, so I'm glad it came across as "not fully random." XD Your analysis of the transitions is completely accurate; they're pretty simple and lazy, and serve only to connect different themes of the piece. I thought some people might find this piece more soothing than spooky, but who am I to conform to traditional moods associated with Halloween? I think eating candy is a pretty soothing experience, after all. I'm glad you enjoyed the contrast between the warm and cold sounds, and I enjoyed your cavern analogue. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of time to produce, but hopefully I'll release some more content around the holidays. I'll try to get around to reviewing some of your new stuff soon! Thanks again for the review, Ale! ^^

This is a really awesome track, dude :O
It's a perfect halloween song!!
Well done :D

Just as catchy as on the first listen :3

Congrats on 900 fans :)
You most certainly deserve it!
Oh, and neat track too ;)

YakovlevArt responds:

Thanks! Now it's gonna be massive when we hit 1000. I'll definitely have to do something special then. it's a personal goal to reach that before PICO day.

I used to only upload music for the first couple years so I know I still have some fans that wait for my tunes :)

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
