I'm happy I could inspire!
I'm on a vacation for 2 weeks right now, and didn't bring my laptop, but hopefully, I'll remember to play your game when I get back!! :D

UrnSudden responds:

As a game it certainly isn't the best, but medley of a shattered mind definitely influenced my first iteration of the art style. It gradually stemmed from there, and I, without a doubt, wouldn't have finished it without that solid tonal foundation, THANKS AH!

Pretty simple, but it works really well in this track!
I always love me some ambient music :3
I'm glad to see I was part or your inspiration for this, thank you! :D

DESHIEL responds:

It is simple, but I feel like everything that I wanted to express with this track is already there :)

and yeah you are now responsible even for the bad ones xD

Whoo, this is amazing... ly good :D

Loved every second, easy favorite, you earned a new fan; nuff said ;)

NeXsard responds:

thank you lucid! thank you very much

Awesome! I love Fancy Pants, and I've played most if not all of the games. I also bought the ps3 version and comleted it 100%.
With that knowledge and experience, I can say that this definitely resembles both the music and the feel of the games. Everything sounds pretty clean to mee too :)

Great job, and good luck in the contest!

ToxicGeek responds:

Thank you and congrats on your completion award!

This is brilliant!

I love it all; insta fav :D

Yet another one!
You cannot NOT continue this until you have a whole album now. It's awesome to hear collaborations like the ones you've made on Newgrounds, as they're usually pretty rare.

Once again, you've all done an amazing job. Loved all the... Perhaps more experimental singing XD

Looking forward to the next one!

Ceevro responds:

Hehe...that was Sonicwombat and myself. The Wombat went off on a tangent, and it was so funny that I decided to introduce him...snowflake becomes blizzard, and next thing you know, we've presented it to some random test-audiences, and they unanimously told us to keep it in! And here we are.

As to whether this thing becomes an actual album...that's certainly on the table. Part of it would be the licensing/royalty issues, getting permissions from artists/record companies, marketing...all sorts of stuff! Albums are pretty ambitious projects, but I think the music we're making may just warrant the effort and expense. Positive feedback goes a LONG way to encouraging our sensitive artist souls!

johnfm, johnfm, johnfm. You've once again created a wonderful track, johnfm!
You also picked a very fitting name for this, johnfm! It really feels like time slowed down while listening to this, but of course in a good way. It's the atmosphere that makes this possible. But how did you achieve that atmosphere, johnfm?
I like your melodies and intrument choices as well, johnfm! Even though you mave have created this in a slightly different style than usually, I can definitely hear the johnfmy style. The bass feels fine to me johnfm, but then again, I am also wearing headphones.

Your beat johnfm, is great. I'm glad you put a lot of work into it. The johnfm-style synths and leads really give a chill feel, which is just what one would come to expect, listening to one of johnfm's tracks.

And to be honest johnfm, I really like that the tempo feels so slow. I guess that's part of the reason why the name fits so well (and perhaps also why you picked it, considering you kinda halved it XD).
Parts of this actually feel a bit minimalistic (while others do not), but I didn't even notice at first, as you made everything run so smoothly and work so well together, filling up all the necessary frequencies.
And wow. You hold true to your johnfm endings as well! Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with fading out, I guess. For some reason, I think that this piece would work really well as a loop though, johnfm! It doesn't feel repetitive, because of the great structure. The mood is also consistent, and I don't know if I'd say there is a climax either, which might be why.

I love this track, and it's going straight to my favorites.

Keep up the great work, johnfm!!!

LunacyDreamer6... I think you responded to the wrong guy's song.

Cool!
This track reminds me of both Desert (not Darude) Sandstorm, and "The Tomb Shaker", the latter one composed by Step. It definitely captures that vibe of a desert, more specifially an Arabic desert. Of course, it's to be expected when using that scale.

The intruments aren't of the best quality, but I think they are well mixed. That said, I think that the main melody intrument (starts at 0:16) sounds a bit boring, especially as this is a loop :(
It's a bit too repetitive, but I also feel like the intrument iself sounds a bit dry and bland. I don't know if more reverb would fix this either; it's probably just the intrument. I hope you didn't want to use something as "dry" as the desert XD

Apart from the repetitiveness, I like the melody. The strings and dynamics are nice. The loop is also smooth. The percussion is nice, to say the least.

All in all, a pretty decent track!

LunacyEcho responds:

=> scale =>

Phrygian dominant scale! That's so fun to say. Phrygian. Phrygian.

=> repetitive =>

It's an annoying loop. What else could you ask for? :P

=> reverb =>

The thing is, after my NGADM/NGAUC submissions, I've become REALLY wary of using reverb in my music, for fear that i'll become as reverb-heavy as those.

Thanks for the review!

What johnfn said. A very useful review, I know, but there's no need to thank me.

LunacyEcho responds:

10/10

Incredibly awesome.
There's just no way this won't be among the winners!!!
Not only because it's so awesome, but because it is so creative o.O
The description says much already, and I can hear the video game feel to this. This has to be featured in a game in the future, or I'll be sad :(

Also, I feel like one of the judges will really like this song for mysterious reasons... I hope she'll pull through okay.

I have no criticisms of this, so that is why my review is a bit on the short end.
I also swear that I hear robot voices saying "meow" at around 2:11 XD

But as I said, this is very creative. So many different things going on o.O! A lot of different feels, including but not excluded to dark and heroic. A lot of different intruments and melodies/progressions. The kind of brilliance one would have to expect from you ;)

Easy favorite :p
Good luck in the competition!

Mattashi responds:

Thanks a lot Lucid, I can't wait to hear what you and dem0lecule are working on!
Those voices at 2:11 do indeed sound a bit like meow xD haha
(It's this humanized-sort of synth from Omnisphere)

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
