Whoop whoop, you're back! And with what perhaps is your strongest genre!

And oh God, I love the watery sound in the intro. It's one of the most comfortable and relaxing sounds I've heard, and it's even more amazing with headphones.

That said, I think that the first intrument that shows up after that, is too dry (or maybe not dry as it's actually pretty wet already, but there's something about the sound that could be made better. I'd have to tweak it myself to know exactly what [It's also so squaky and overtaking that it removes some of the soothing-ness]) compared to the background, and the melody seems a bit too sharp too, but I can't say for sure, as it might work better with another intrument. That may just be my opinion though (the one at 0:32 is good, on the other hand, and its melodies were very interesting).

The second half of the song is all fine, even if it differs a bit from the first part. The beat is simble and relaxing, and the new pads are nice too. The melody instrument at this point actually reminds me of some synth that BlueOceans might've used at some point o.O
I really like 2:18!

Enjoy the family reunion! I favorited the song, and I hope I was of some help :D

Hey, it's great to be back! :D I agree with a lot of your critiques here. I was thrilled to hear that you agreed with the analysis that this had to be an ocean-themed track, which (of course) explains the title. The "dry synth" is, I think, the part at :24, which is the same as the "sharp" melody instrument later on. I think what makes it "dry" is that it's too high-pitched and harsh...or, better said, "sharp." :) The synth at :32 was actually originally a gritty synth that came with a lot of effects on it. I removed most of the effects and added some reverb, and then it sounded awesome, haha. XD Still, I agree with the melody being too sharp as well. I'm glad the second half of the song was enjoyable for you, and I can totally see BO using an instrument like that! I used to criticize him all the time for using "sharp" synths. ;) Thanks very much again for the review, LSD, and I'll review a boatload of the tracks of yours I missed in a few weeks. ^^ Your reviews are ALWAYS of MORE THAN SOME help. Hope you're enjoying your (Swedish) semester. ;D

This is cool!

It looks like I'm not the only one fooling around with music this day :p
The rhythm in this piece is quite commendable!
This actually sounds great, despite not being your usual style :D

Noisysundae responds:

Thanks. It's just for April fool. I'm going back to electronics now.
Btw, I personally think this is too short. But I might ruin the lulz if I make it longer either.
Hate this kind of dilemmas so much. :(

Cool! I love the real claps! They sound so different from all the vst/sample ones, for some reason :3

I can hear that pretty much the whole song is centered around the claps, even if there are some breaks. That is fine, although I think the rhythm becomes a bit simple after a while. Nothing really wrong with that though, I guess, just a tad too repetitive for my ears.

Other than that, I love all the soft and chill sounds (I especially love the electric piano). The melodies are okay too :3
All in all, good job ;)

Fevra responds:

Thanks very much for the feedback!
I agree too, I kind of wasn't to sure to do with the outro but I tried to make it work!
Thank you again for listening :)

No... It can't be true... You beat my longest improv uploaded by more than 10 minutes o.O
And it even sounds pretty good!
It's settled then. I will beat this in the year of 2015. I must.
Oh yeah! The filsizes are getting bigger, right? This means it's actually achievable >:D

I can't leave a full review, as I don't have time to listen to this all right now. However, I'm saving it among my favorites, so I'll surely listen to the whole thing later ;)

Great job :D

Phyrnna responds:

Longest track on NG??? O.o
To be honest though I wasn't trying for length. I just kinda started and kept going with it and stopped when my arms got tired @_@;

And yeah, thank @TomFulp for larger file sizes.
Thanks for listening (in the future)! :D

~Phyrnna ^_^ <3

P.S. Gonna do a ten hour improv >:D BEAT DAT!!! :P

I'll let you in on a secret. I love ambient music ;)

You're indeed not dead :D!

It's just as LancuyEhoc said, the melodies are super awesome. Actually, I think everything is super awesome :3

Yup.

johnfn responds:

I'm still alive! Thanks for the nice review! Poor lancuy ehoc. what a name butchering. :D

Nice choice of chords. A very relaxing listen :)
The melodies are of course good too, even if they are pretty simple.
Great job ;)

NicholasCabraja responds:

thank you!
Ya, Nujabes chord progression was pretty simple and repetitive. That alone sets the basis of the song so all I had to do was have good sound design and arranging so it wasn't too boring.

You must've really been honing your craft, because this is truly awesome! o.O
I don't have much to comment on about the greatness, as it's so overwhelming. I really think that all is good. The mixing, instruments (that guitar sound is so good!), the melodies and all the transitions and progressions, along with the beats. All are pretty much perfect.
Amazin' job, my friend ;)

GhostLawyer responds:

Much appreciated! I haven't even uploaded my super fine-tuned stuff yet but your words invigorate me with glee. Thanks for always taking the time to listen to my stuff.

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
