Once again, you've got an insanely good podcast voice xD
Maybe you should consider doing it oustide of the deathmatch too? Well, don't want to put too much work on your table though :p
It's just cool that this site has that feature.

P.S. Nice choice of background music ;)

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks once again, Lucid! I aim to please. ^__^

I wouldn't mind helping folks out once in a while, especially here on Newgrounds! I generally get paid for voice-over/acting gigs and the like, but donating my time isn't a problem for the right opportunity. Not that I'm all grasping or whatever of course, but a fella needs to eat once in a while, too. (;

Y'know, I was actually pretty surprised the first time I stumbled over the Podcast feature. We may be lacking in a lot of musical genre options, but the VA and Podcast areas seem to be covered.

P.S. Glad you enjoyed the music! In future podcasts, I may start using music other than my own.

johnfn finds it humorous that I've only used my own music, and he's not wrong when he says it would be a great idea to incorporate some actual tracks from the NGADM. But of course my main concern was that doing so could result in others feeling slighted or left out...

Then again, maybe I should just stop being so concerned about what other people may or may not think and simply do what I want! :3

As SnowTeddy already mentioned, I very much appreciate the fact that you're not afraid to go outside of your usual style (even though you've obviously experimented in other compositions too). You've also let this piece evolve over time, which makes for a very interesting structure. I took your advice in the description, and went into my first listen without any expectations whatsoever. That really helped my enjoyment, I'd say!

You're able to make the most out of your chord progressions, be it with suspense, arps, or just the way the melody flows.

I hope your risky move is appreciated by the judges, but we'll see! I personally enjoy where the piece ends up going. It's great that you've clearly put a lot of effort into composing this track too. Indeed, in your bracket (and preferably at all points and placements in the competition) every round ought to be treated as the last one.

This is a great listen. Keep up the marvelous work, and best of luck! This round will indeed be a tough one :)

Phonometrologist responds:

You know I always appreciate your support and reviews. This one is no different, and it's reassuring at times when I'm in doubt. In regards to the competition, I really don't expect to advance. I wouldn't want to give any ideas to the judges, but the transition will probably knock some points off the overall score as I find it weak. I ran out of time in smoothing out the parts, and after this round, I plan on improving upon these ideas. But hey I don't mind, and I have no expectations to how it goes other than that I get to take a little break from making music ;p
I also was able to get an idea of an concept album from the feedback I've received in the last two pieces so it has been productive so far.

Well this certainly is apt, as I am about to go to sleep. Thank you!

Bosa responds:

Sweet dreams, my faithful friend!

Just wanted to leave some love here too <3
Love the track!
Eagerly waiting for more when you have time ;)

I haven't forgotten about our collab with Jordi either. We'll get to it eventually, I'm sure. There's not much left to work on in any case.

P.S. Gotta love that keychange!

Mattashi responds:

Yeah I really want to get that song done with you two! :)

I know I already told you this, but this is one of my favorite songs of your making!
I aprpeciate the fact that you went somewhat out of your comfort zone to create this wonderful mixture. I think that trying to reflect on your own style, adapting to new things as well as making use of critique is a great feature to have. It's also one of the main reasons I enjoy competitions of this sort, which can cause a drive for it!

Personally I think that the final mix is very good. The arrangement is interesting, and the structure is solid. While I like your longer pieces too, I think the length fits this one quite perfectly :)

As you probably already know, I'm a huge fan of that lead at 2:54 :D
Finally, props for all the different rhythmic elements you've managed to include in this track. All the different elements blend in beautifully together, to create something that makes for a fantastic listen.

Great job, and best of luck <3

I agree with the other reviewers; I love this :D!

I love metal! And this is some reaaaaallly awesome metal :D
Reminds me of Turisas, in a very good way!
Great job, and best of luck.

bassfiddlejones responds:

Rock on LSD!

Catchy stuff, dude! The loop is pretty clean too :)
Even if it seems to be from 2014, it holds up nicely ;D

eatmeatleet responds:

thank you, LSD! Always nice to hear from you. Yess this is probably my best loop from that year

I play this piece on my piano every now and then :)
It's very very pretty, and you've made a very very pretty rendition of it, giving it justice ^___^

I know it has been a while now, and you've probably moved on. That said, I think you could've indeed made a massive transition from the calm mood, to something uplifting (like the second part of the original Terra's Theme), with a full orchestra. That's not easy to pull off though. If you'd want inspiration, there's a pretty huge transition if another favorite piece of mine, around the middle:

So you could basically build into the more uplifting part, and naturally do it in your own way :D
Great job with what you've got already!

AceMantra responds:

Hey, thanks! :3
I was actually wondering what I should make next; maybe I'll go back and work on this one. The piece you suggested does spark some ideas. ;)

Nice work on this one :D!

I exist. That'd pretty much be it. Pictures made on Paint.NET (getpaint.net) and Apophysis 7X.
